I was diagnosed with ADPCKD at the young age of 13.

Fast forward 18yrs and my life was turned upside down! I had just moved to Young NSW and settled into my new Job when my left kidney haemorrhaged; I was transferred to Canberra Hospital where I remained for 6wks. My left kidney was removed on the 30th June 2017.

My Hb dropped to 65, I commenced Dialysis, I developed ptsd as a result of this experience; I felt trapped and completely out of control. I now know that everything that happened was in an effort to keep me alive. In 2018 I learnt something I never thought I’d be able to do; I took back control and learnt to do my own Haemo Dialysis in the comfort of my home.

On February 15th 2019 my darling Brother In-law gifted me one of his Kidney’s! I’ve never been so grateful to receive the gift of life. I am now just gone 6mths post tx and feeling fabulous! I finally have my life back! I can now continue to build my future with my fiancé here in Young.
